Departing June 9, Ryan Gilhuly and Dwight Smith will embark on a journey , attempting to pedal from the Atlantic Coast, New Haven, CT to the Pacific Coast, Santa Barbara, CA with no amenities, hoping for anything the west has to offer and to raise awareness and donations for the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation's Arthur C. Luf Children's Burn Camp.

Hi Guys-
So, what is your next adventure? Make sure you let us know how to track it, whatever it is.
Best wishes to both of you. You are both unique and don't let anybody ever try to convince you otherwise. Not that they'd want to, anyway. I am very glad you had a flat tire that ended you up in Atchison, KS for a short while. The flat was not good for you, but it sure was for us. I have a favorite little saying that is important to remember in life and that is that "the journey's the thing" - something I'm sure the two of you have figured out by now if you didn't already know it before you started your trip.
Travel safe always, and remember, no hitching OR falling on trains, Ryan. You are very sweet people.

Reading about your encounter with the Pacific caused me to wiggle my toes and breathe deep. Wonderful blog. Congrats on an epic journey. If you ever venture up to Bellingham, let me know! Here is the link to mine:
